Stockholm, umbrellas, and photowalking in the rain
Götgatan, Stockholm.
I walked from Medborgarplatsen up Götgatan and then down towards Slussen, and finally over to Gamla Stan – the Old Town.
It was raining, so there were plenty of people out and about with their umbrellas up.
I looked for umbrellas in striking colours but there weren’t too many on show.
Still, I managed to find a handful.
Everything is a blur
I seem to be caught up in a stage of taking slow-shutter photographs of people, blurring their identity, so to speak, from the photograph.
Taking photographs in public is increasingly difficult. Everyone is aware of a camera, no one wants to be photographed candidly. So, I’ve stumbled into working with slow shutter speed.
The great thing about my Lumix S1ii is that it has incredibly good image stabilisation; I can slow the shutter speed right down and still get something I can use.
